Climbing Mont Blanc - general information

Mont Blanc is not technically a very difficult peak to climb, but is also not to be underestimated. A safe ascent of Mt Blanc requires good acclimatisation and physical fitness, and an extensive knowledge of the conditions on this mountain. Together with our experienced Mt Blanc guides and a well prepared Mt Blanc program, the chance for success on the highest mountain in the Alps is great.

First our bodys must get the chance to get used to altitude and less oxygen.
Therefore we will climb several peaks before attempting to ascend Mt Blanc, meanwhile we also get to practise the use of crampons and ice axe.

Depending on your former mountaineering experience, and whether you prefer climbing or walking, we offer a 5 day or a 6 day Mont Blanc course. Both programs will include enough time to recover before we ascend Mt Blanc.
The goal is not to wear you out during our acclimatisation period but to climb nice peaks, acclimatize and enjoy the Chamonix mountain environment.

Best time: Beginning of July to mid of September.
For us it is helpful to set a date as early as possible.

Ability: You need to be an experienced mountain walker with a good level of fitness.

Day 7: climb Mt Blanc

On a 6 day course we have the advantage that we spend 2 nights in altitude before ascending Mt Blanc. During the first 3 days a maximum of 4 people will climb with one mountain guide. One extra day gives you better acclimatisation, which makes it easier on the summit day.

On the last 3 days a maximum of 2 people climb with one guide, which is necessary for the actual ascent of Mt Blanc. This also gives us the option to ascend a day earlier in case the weather should be unstable.
