Mounain Spirit Guiding

Martin w Svenson

Born in 1976, from Sweden he is a fully certified UIAGM mountain guide, whom has a dedicated passion for mountain sports.
"It is great to be able to exercise all the different disciplines in different environment and that keeps the flame burning" he says.
Martin started to ski in 1976, in the region of Telemark in Norway, very close to a small village called Rjukan and the very same area that modern telemark skiing was born.
Martin has spent winter seasons in the French Alps since the beginning of the 90th exploring the steep and deep side of skiing and searching for new climbing ascents.
"Today after almost 15 years in the alps I look at mountains in a different prospective though, but the passion for adventure skiing remains. As a guide I have the opportunity to work with people in a very dramatic environment. In the mountains it's easy to pass on to people the sense of what a fantastic, but again fragile, world we live in."
Three decades after his first turns he now works as a guide in La Grave and Chamonix during the winter and summer, which he ranks as his favourite spots. In spring time he returns home to the ski touring in the land of the mid-night sun, touring in the remote areas of northern Norway and Sweden to explore more mountains and new routes.
