Ski the Chugach Mountains - Alaska
The Chugach mountains, perfectly shaped for skiing and an average annual snow fall of incredible 18 meters are the target of this expedition.
Far from civilisation and heliskiing we find spectacular peaks, glaciers and possibilities for first descents.
About 30 to 50min flight time in a 2 seater Piper Super Cup and our bush pilot will drop us in the heart of the Chugach mountain range where we set up our base camp on the glacier. We now are on our own in the Alaskan wilderness.
For 7 days we ski different peaks and cols every day - first descents are very likely!
Ski Touring expedition - 7 days of skiing
Day 1: Meeting in Anchorage, night in Anchorage, last shopping oportunity.
Day 2: Drive to Scheep mountain lodge, night at sheep mountain lodge.
Day 3: In the morning we meet our pilot who will fligh us with his piper super cup onto the glacier. His plane is a 2 seater bush plane and he will drop us about 40km from the next road and civilisation in the Chugach mountains where we set up base camp. In the afternoon we will go for a ski.
Day 4: Skiing.
Day 5: Skiing.
Day 6: Skiing.
Day 7: Skiing.
Day 8: Skiing.
Day 9: Skiing.
Day 10: Our pilot will pick us up and we will fligh back to civilisation, drive to Valdez.
Day 11: This day is reserved in case the weather does not allow a pick up from the glacier. If everything goes to plan we have time to go heliskiing in Valdez or for some more touring at Thompsons pass. Drive back to Anchorage.
Day 12: Departure.
This trip can also be combined with a few days heli-skiing around Valdez , if you wish to do so.

Ability: You need to have good experience in off-piste skiing and be well familiar using ski touring equipment.
Group size: To provide a maximum of safety and to be able to ski difficult decents there will be a maximum of 5 persons per guide.
